To the Honorable Board:

Committee counsel at the state legislature has returned the City’s home rule petition seeking authorization for the use and/or disposition of Harris Park for a purpose other than a park/playground, with a request that more flexible language be included authorizing the Legislature to vary the form and substance of the requested legislation within the scope of the general public objectives of this petition.

The Law Department has redrafted the petition to conform to the requests of legislative counsel and it is being resubmitted for your authorization.

Special Counsel Anne Thomas will be available if you have any questions.

Respectfully submitted,

Joseph A. Curtatone

Mayor
