Official Text

To the Honorable Board of Aldermen

I request an appropriation of $47,500.00 from the Capital Stabilization Fund for the purchase of Thermal Imaging Cameras (TIC) for the Fire Department.

The Fire Department will be replacing three obsolete cameras that are no longer supported by the manufacturer and adding one new one to the rescue company. TIC's are used in zero visibility conditions to locate victims and also to find fire hidden in concealed spaces. This will increase victim survivability, reduce property loss, and protect firefighters.

Respectfully

Joseph A. Curtatone
